As a teacher, traveler and avid communicator – I have always loved to use my voice to inspire, to inquire, and to connect with others, and following a decade focused on industries and roles completely unrelated to the creative arts, my childhood pursuits of acting, singing and dj-ing radio hits slowly and organically began to emerge again in 2009 after landing my voice over commercial for a Wells Fargo re-insurance video.
Since then, I would go on to record various occasional internal company training
videos, phone menus, explainer video and internal sales commercials – but it wouldn’t be until around the beginning of 2020 that a few longer-term projects landed on my desk, prompting me to consider that I might actually be ready to dive into voice acting as a full-fledged professional pursuit.
Now, as I transition into the voice over industry, I plan to use the e-learning, commercial and explainer video skills I have gained from the projects I’ve participated in previously as a foundation – and continue to develop and expand both my voice skills and my studio set up, and I’m excited to jump onboard to new projects that have a social or academic mission!
Although I’m relatively new to the industry, I’ve been working in customer service, teaching and training for over 10 years so I can talk, read and present for long hours on end, and this technical endurance results in quick project turnaround, as well as the ability to commit to long recording sessions while still remaining energetic and focused.
Additionally, I bring time & project management skills to the table as well, and given some basic experience working on music & video production sets, I am comfortable with best practies in organizing & formatting data, ensuring that audios are formatted and delivered in accordance with the format outlined in client brief.
In terms of delivery, I am happy to fluctuate between native, conversational English if needed for native English speaking-audiences, but I can also adjust my rhythm and pace if content is developed with lower-level ESL learners in mind.
